ARTIST STATEMENT
My art is inspired by nature, starting with bold colors as an underpainting and moving intuitively from there. I often have a loose idea of what I'm creating (florals, landscapes, etc.), but I strive to free myself from expectations and let the painting take its own form. Afterward, I move back and refine, adjusting the composition, focus and feeling. I believe creativity is within us all and art is the best way to overcome fear, comparison, and pressure. With my work, I hope to offer viewers solace, contemplation, and joy.
