This original mixed media collage began with a wonderful acrylic background of soft greens and soft yellows in different saturation and hues. It was created as I spent a week on Mackinaw Island with friends painting. Next I intuitively added collage papers. As I added more acrylic and then stepped back - I knew I wanted trees but I saw the unexpected glow in the center and decided I wanted to take the viewer on a journey into the woods- to place of magic and love. I added more pinks, and the dark grasses to contrast the path. With oil pastels and more collage papers I finished the painting. 18" x 20" x 2" Framed in white wood.
