This original mixed media collage was created as I spent a week on Mackinaw Island with friends painting. It began with a wonderful acrylic background of blues in different saturation and hues. Then the collage papers went down intuitively as I add more acrylic and then stepped back - to my surprise I saw the city and the lake in front. The bright orange building was my focal point but I want to add a feeling of a wind so the boat and the large free swipe in the upper left corner took me there. It was a joy to paint. The title Windward means: being in or facing the direction from which the wind is blowing. My hope is this painting takes you there! 18" x 20" x 2" Framed in white wood.
